MeraNews Network, Gandhinagar: A global trade show will be held from January 18 to 22 at the Exhibition Grounds near Mahatma Mandir in a 2 lakh square metre area during Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2019 in the state capital. More than 2000 companies from 25 sectors will set up stalls inside 18 huge domes in the exhibition ground.
In the inaugural edition of the biennial investors’ summit, 36 stalls were set up by companies in a 3000 square metre area. It increased to 1000 stalls in the 2017 edition. The ninth edition of the summit is expecting 1.5 million visitors and participation by about 3000 delegates from over 100 countries. A mini version of the Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest structure of India’s first deputy prime minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Kevadiya Colony, will also be placed at the exhibition centre.
The global trade show will be inaugurated on January 17. From January 18 to 20, the trade show will be reserved only for the participating businessmen and invitees. Later it would be thrown open for all the visitors at the summit. Additionally, a fashion show on the theme Farm to Fabrics and Make in India will be organized at the Ahmedabad Riverfront in association with the Gujarat Chambers of Commerce and Industries.
A special committee has been formed by the government for the same, which will be headed by the secretary for tourism and trade show organizing committee chairman SJ Haider.
