MeraNews Network, Surat: Two men were arrested on late Friday evening with 127 duplicate currency notes of Rs 2,000 from Udhna-Bhathe in Surat. Both men are natives of Bhavnagar and had reportedly come to Surat city to circulate these notes in the market.

Udhna Police had received a tip-off about two men attempting to spend duplicate currency notes of the face value of Rs 2000 at several shops in Bhathe. The cops set up a watch team and begun tracking the suspects and on Friday evening, nabbed the men. They were identified as Bipin Bhaga Parmar and Kishan Solanki.

Police inspector AP Parmar of Udhna Police said that a forensics team was called in to check the veracity of the bank notes seized from the men. Upon confirming that they were fake notes, charges were filed against the two. 127 duplicate notes of the total face value of Rs 2.75 lakhs were found from their possession. Both the men are being interrogated by the cops to find out who gave them these notes and if there are more people involved behind this.
