MeraNews Network, Surat: The victim, who had accused Gujarat BJP’s former vice-president Jayanti Bhanushali of rape, didn’t appear before the cops at Sarthana Police station, despite repeated phone calls and attempts to get in touch with her on Wednesday.

According to police sources, three phone-calls were made to her, and during one of the phone calls, the victim told the cops that she is with her lawyer at that time and would be at the police station soon. While it has been found out that her lawyer was actually at some other place and not with her as claimed by her. She never showed up

Meanwhile, DCP Leena Patil who is investigating this case said that the city police will soon dispatch two teams to Ahmedabad to nab Bhanushali. The city crime branch had written to the victim to remain present at the police station in regards to her case, where corporator Dinesh Kachhadiya was to be interrogated too.

P.L. Chaudhary, one of the investigating officers in the case informed that if the victim/complainant fails to appear before the crime branch after two written notifications, the police will use the legal route to summon her.
