MeraNews Network, Surat: Ever since a Surat-based young woman has accused former Abadasa MLA and Gujarat BJP vice-president Jayanti Bhanushali of rape and sexual exploitation, the senior politician has gone underground and the cops are unable to trace him. Even the victim has gone incommunicado for the past three days when the Surat Police had summoned her to the Sarthana Police station for interrogation. The police need to speak to the accused and the victim in detail to seek clarity in this high-profile case.

The victim had protested the frequent visits by the police at her house after she had filed a complaint against Bhanushali, leading to which the city police commissioner decided that the victim would be summoned to the police station every time the cops would need her presence in the investigation. During the investigation, there were several such issues faced by the cops where they needed to visit the victim to verify its authenticity.

On Thursday the Surat Police issued a second summons to Bhanushali to appear before the cops, but he has not responded to any. The cops even sent a team to his Ahmedabad residence but found no one to be present in the house.
