MeraNews Network, Surat: The newly appointed Surat Range IGP S.P Rajkumar (Additional DGP) issued a series of orders on Thursday, which not only dictates law and order in the range but also ensures that the cops become a stickler of the police rules too.

One of the orders stated that those who waste the valuable time of the police and law enforcement agencies by filing false complaints at any off the police stations falling in Surat Rural, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, and Dang regions will be dealt with strictly. The police will be investigating every case in detail and if it finds out any of the information given in the complaint contradictory, then the complainant will have to face legal action.

This decision will hopefully put brakes on those elements who misuse the policing services to harass the citizens and the cops equally.

Another order given out by the Additional DGP prohibits policemen to be dressed in civil dressing like jeans and t-shirts. In case they have to, the officials will have to be dressed in smart formals so as to improve the image of the policemen in the public. Other than this, the policemen will have to ensure that their official weapon remains concealed and that they must carry their identity card all the times when representing the force on duty.
