MeraNews Network, Atlanta: A mega matrimonial conference was held for the Gujarati Hindu community of USA for the first time in the country on August 11 and 12. The two-day summit was held at the Gokuldham Haveli in Atlanta, Georgia which saw the attendance of 218 young men and women belonging to the Gujarati community from more than 30 states of United States of America.

The event, titled Gujarati Jeevansathi Convention, was jointly organized by Gokuldham Haveli, Brahman Samaj of Georgia and Charotar Moti Sattavis Leuva Patidar Samaj-Atlanta to bring together marriageable Gujarati Hindu young men and women living in the USA to find their life-partners. The Gokuldham Haveli in Atlanta city was built under the guidance of Vaishnavacharya Dwarkeshlalji Maharaj, the Shashtpithadishwar of Vadodara’s Kalyanrayji Temple. The Gokuldham Haveli regularly organizes cultural activities in its premises, and this was one amongst them.

Families that took part in the convention not only came from the various American states but from the United Kingdom, Dubai and even India. The first day of the convention had an ice-breaking ceremony for the young men and women, which were followed by a dance and garba event. Saturday saw a one-on-one meeting function were the prospective brides and grooms along with their families held discussions to know each other well.

A get-together too was organized later in the day for the participants. The event was made the brainchild of Hetal Patel, Avni Jambudi, Ami Patwa, Hemant Thaker, Jayanti Patel, Nisha Patel, Raju Patel and the chairman of Gokuldham Haveli Ashok Patel, Secretary Tejas Patel, Kintu Shah, Hetal Shah and team.
