MeraNews Network, Ahmedabad: Kalyansinh Chamapvat, one of the accused in the infamous Talati Scam of Gujarat, was arrested by police on Wednesday night after a woman accused him of sexually harassing her under the pretext of offering her a job. He has been sent to police custody by the court after the cops didn’t demand a remand for him.
The victim in her complaint to Anandnagar Police station stated that she had got in touch with Champavat seeking a job. But he had started making sexual demands from her and would send her lewd messages to her. The police arrested him on Wednesday and presented him in the metropolitan court that sent him to police custody.
Speaking to media persons Crime Branch ACP VG Patel said that atrocities act and IT act have been invoked against Champavat in this complaint. Champavat, who used to run Smart Academy in Gandhinagar was arrested by the police in 2014 for duping government job aspirants of lakhs of rupees by promising them jobs as Talati in the Gujarat government.
