Ahmedabad: The Jamnagar-Ahmedabad flight service by Air Odisha under PM Modi’s dream project UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik)got grounded on the day of Dhuleti, disappointing many a passengers who wished to take flight to Ahmedabad for Holi festivities.

The 18-seater twin engine Beechcraft 1900D was grounded due to engine failure, but it won’t be able to make its Ahmedabad-Jamnagar-Ahmedabad and Ahmedabad-Diu-Ahmedabad due to runway repair at Ahmedabad airport from March 1. The services of the Ahmedabad-Jamnagar route will remain suspended till April 15.

Air Odisha’s Shaishav Shah said “Due to the runway repair work going on at the Ahmedabad International Airport, the airstrip remain shut from 10 AM to 7 PM, thus the flight services will have to be kept suspended till the runway gets operational.” It is not the first time an intrastate airline service in Gujarat was started but later failed.
