Meranews, Bhuj: The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) authorities arrested three Pakistan fishermen and seized 14 fishing boats from the Gujarat coast today.

DG of Press Information Bureau, KS Dhatwalia has informed that the troops of 79 battalion of the BSF BOP TJP (Trijunction Post), u/PS - Dayapar of Bhuj apprehended these fishermen at around 3 am on Thursday near the Harami Nallah area of Kutch district in Gujarat.

According to sources, five of their accomplices managed to escape.

The party also fired two rounds with 5.56 mm INSAS Light Machine Gun during this process of apprehension. The BSF patrol party managed to arrest three fishermen, while five others managed to flee in one boat.

However, nothing suspicious was found from the seized Pakistanis or their boats. The entire area where the Pakistanis were found has being thoroughly searched, officials added.

The party also fired two RDS with 5.56 MM INSAS LMG. Further details are awaited.

In this year alone, there have been at least five instances of abandoned Pakistani fishing boats being recovered near the Harami Nallah area near Sir Creek by various BSF patrols. In May, BSF caught six Pakistanis for illegally fishing in Indian waters; while in March, the Indian Coast Guard apprehended nine Pakistanis and a boat after they crossed in the international border
