MeraNews Network, Ahmedabad: Congress leader and former Union minister for petroleum Dinsha Patel met PAAS convener Hardik Patel on the 13th day of his fast at his residence on Thursday. Expressing his support for Hardik, Patel said that the Patidar leader is fighting for a just cause and that government should not waste more time to come to a solution for this issue.

Taking a swipe at the governing BJP party over rising prices of petrol and diesel, Patel said that when he was the petroleum minister, the opposition had made a hue and cry over fuel price hike of one rupee and had said that he should be garlanded with shoes. Now they should wear a garland of shoes themselves.

Hardik Patel, who had locked horns with the Gujarat government seeking reservation for the Patidar community in government jobs and admission in schools and colleges, is currently on a fast at his house asking the government to not only grant the Patidars with reservations but also waive the loans of farmers of the state. For the past 13 days, several prominent political leaders like independent MLA Jignesh Mevani, MP and AICC Gujarat in-charge Rajiv Satav and BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha paid a visit to the young leader.
