Hitesh Chavda, Gandhinagar: Social activist and Vadgam MLA Jignesh Mevani, will be awaiting a grand welcome in Rajasthan when he arrives in the state to campaign against the Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming state assembly elections. Mevani plans to hold a massive rally in Rajasthan next month. He was detained at Jaipur Airport last month and an order was issued by the Additional Commissioner of Police, Jaipur, Nitin Deep Blaggan barring him from holding any public event, rally or delivering a speech in Jaipur between April 15 and 30.
Mevani had then taken an oath that next time he will enter Rajasthan in a grand fashion, and to make that happen, his supporters have decided to bring him to the state in a convoy of 51 cars. They will arrive in Gujarat overnight with the vehicles and will start for Rajasthan at 7:30 AM next day on June 3. They plan to reach Rajasthan via Palanpur on the same day.
Rashtriya Dalit Adhikar Manch’s Rajasthan chapter’s Dharmendra Jatav said, “We will arrive in Gujarat on June second and will accompany Mevani to Rajasthan in a convoy of 51 cars and will be covering 7 districts of Rajasthan during the rally.
Speaking to MeraNews, Mevani, who is currently in Kolkata, said, “Last time when I was detained at the Jaipur Airport from attending a rally, I promised the Vasundhara Raje government that I will return soon, and that too, in a grand welcome. And I will be fulfilling what I promised on June 3. The people are with me and are showing their support by participating in my rallies.
