MeraNews Network, Gandhinagar: The Vigilance Commission of Gujarat has suggested the state government to take punitive action against 10 IPS officers, 952 class 1 and 2 officers and 446 class 3 officers who were involved in widespread corruption at different instances during the last three years in the government.

The Gujarat Vigilance Commission on September 19, 2018 tabled their report in the Gujarat Assembly. It said that the commission has received 7541 applications, out of which it has asked for reports in 834 such applications. 4592 applications have been forwarded for necessary actions to be taken on them. According to the reports by the Anti Corruption Bureau, it has suggested prosecution of 22 public servants, strict action against 290 public servants. Other than this, it has also asked for deduction of pension of 35 officials, light punishment against 45 and penalty from 21 officials. In total, 413 public servants are to face punitive action.

The commission had in the year 2017 received 1103 reports against corrupt officials from different departments of the Sachivalay.
